LaserWriter 8.0 is distributed as a "disk image" file. This file is used to make an 1440K (high density) floppy disk, which is then used to install LaserWriter 8.0.
To make the floppy, have a 1440K (HD) floppy ready (either blank or containing information that can be erased). Do not insert the floppy yet. Click (once) on the "LaserWriter 8.0 Install.image" icon, then hold down the Shift key and click (once) on the Disk Copy 4.2 icon. Now release the Shift key and double-click on the Disk Copy 4.2 icon. This will run Disk Copy 4.2, and after a few seconds a dialog will appear with a "Make A Copy" button. Press that button, and then insert your floppy, with the write-protect hole closed. If the floppy is not blank, you will be given a warning - press the "Duplicate" button. It will take about a minute to create the floppy - at the end, you should see the message "The disk was duplicated successfully". Press the "Quit" button, remove the floppy, and slide the write-protect hole open.
You now have a LaserWriter 8.0 installer disk. To perform the actual installation, please read the "Read Me" file on the installer disk carefully.
After successfully creating the floppy, you may discard the "LaserWriter 8.0 Install.image" and the "LaserWriter 8.0.SEA" files. If you already have Disk Copy 4.2, you should replace it with the copy included in this package, which has been modified to work with 1440K disks.
